Kali's Adventure

Last Friday, we let Kali out and she decided to take a walk around the property (as she does most times she goes out). Unfortunately, she didn't come home. We called, and called, but got no response. She still wasn't there when we got up, or came home from work... we were really starting to get worried. Over the summer we've heard coyotes yipping nearby, and we know there are fishers and foxes in the area as well. But we never gave up hope, and called for her every chance we got.

Then tonight when we got home (in the pouring rain), we heard loud meowing at our front door. David opened it and Kali came running in! She was very hungry and starved for attention - she didn't stop meowing for an hour! We checked her all out, and she seems fine - no injuries; she lost a bit of weight, but that's not really a bad thing.

She's very happy to be home!

And we thought the first one was bad...

The wolf spider we saw in the spring was nothing compared to the huge orb weaver in our rosebush!

Needless to say we will be leaving it in peace...

Kite Flying

Today David decided to take advantage of our high winds and fly his kite!

All the cats were scared of the kite, except our fearless female Bella.

Bella's Day Out

David decided to take Bella for a walk around the yard today. She had a great time exploring the property!

Heat Wave!

For the past few days, I have been hiding out in our basement... which is a cool 23 deg.C

I felt this was a good plan of action when I saw this...

Tommy the Toad

I was enjoying the cool basement today, when I looked up at the window to see what had captured Caesar's interest... there was an american toad by the window!

Craft Room - Before & After

For the longest time I have wanted a dedicated space in which to do crafts and store crafting supplies. In our last place I had everything scattered around our office, and some stuff in baskets in the living room as well. When we first visited this house, I knew that the spare room in the basement would become my craft room.
